Leadership
The Founder and CEO of CoachCEO, Mr. V. Ramachandran (Ram, as he is often called), brings over three decades of corporate experience in many of the blue-chip companies of the world.
Starting his career at BHEL, Ram has worked for a number of Indian companies — the Associated Capsules Group, Golden Tobacco Company, Coromandel Indag Group and the Murugappa Group — as well as MNCs including Texas Instruments, Motorola, Standard Chartered Bank, AT&T / NCR, SITA and Air Mauritius. He has lived and worked in India, Singapore, London (UK) and Mauritius.
Ram worked his way up from being a Personnel Officer at BHEL to Country HR Director for AT&T in India and Sri Lanka. He was the first Indian to be posted abroad by AT&T, appointed in 1995 as Asia Pacific HR Director for AT&T / NCR based out of Singapore. He went on to join SITA in London (UK) as Global Head of HR for three of their four business units, later working with their Sales and Bid Management team on Mergers and Acquisitions projects across the globe. He returned to India as a Board Member for the Murugappa Group, and finally rejoined Motorola as their Asia Pacific HR Leader for HR Strategy and Operations.
He founded the firm in 2010 as an independent business, strategy and management consultancy — offering executive coaching and designing assessment and development centers for large corporations.
He has now started focusing his attention on board-level services: contributing at the Board level to provide governance and risk oversight, talent management, leadership pipeline development, and succession planning for family-owned and family-managed organisations.
Ram is also an adjunct faculty member at IIM Bangalore and Kozhikode, the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and the Center for Organization Development, Hyderabad — where he teaches executive-level programmes for industry-experienced professionals. See his teaching assignments.
